Holiday time!

It's already here! Time of relaxing at the end of the semester. Our classroom had some new friends move in... Cave Roaches (Blaberus giganteus) and Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches (Gromphadorhina portentosa). Shout out to DFW Reptarium in Plano, Texas, for providing our class with such interesting creatures that help my students learn more about the not so obvious life all around. These are some amazing little arthropods! They are scavengers and have been enjoying student leftover from lunch like lettuce, pears, and sometimes popcorn. I recently read that they also like dog food, so I guess I'll be bringing some of that for them, too. Haven't figured out just what or when to blog, but I am working on it. Changes to this website and additional features like connecting to a Google Classroom site are scheduled for January 2017. The New Year is looking bright!
